The new BMW 420i Coupe Sport has a 184 hp 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, but where the details differ is in the design as well as suspension work.
It gains a new rear apron at the back and slightly different rear lights with bigger indicator illumination space. Interior-wise, new electroplated detailing, chrome applications and centre console in high-gloss black. With the Sport comes three new upholstery colours together with three new interior trim strips choices. The navigation system has been updated with tile-style control pads which we first saw on the new 5-Series. The new Sport has two new exterior paint options too: Snapper Rocks Blue and Sunset Orange.
The big mechanical difference over the non-Sport is in the stiffer suspension setup with improved straight-line stability and more communicative steering feel.
The 420i Coupe Sport is the first Sport version of the 4-series coupe, which will be extended to the Convertible and Gran Coupe. The 430i and 440i will be introduced with the M Sport package in the future, for the Coupe, Grand Coupe and Convertible variants.
